This vintage purse from the WWI era is truly one-of-a-kind. Post EDWARDIAN Early 1920s WWI Era UNIQUE BAG Butterfly Under Glass w Chatelaine.

This bag is AMAZING and extremely unique! There is an iron very ornate frame with ball closure framing a glass pressed butterfly with farina and what appears to be fur or feathers.

The bag measures approx 8.5” tall x 6.5” widest when it’s laid flat, and has a strap attached by ring to the frame that has a 7” length drop. The stitching on underside of the handle is quite unique too. The lid opens to reveal a mirror underneath. The exterior is like a soft brushed olive green leather and the interior is lined with linen or hemp. Inside is a chatelaine holding a (degraded silk covered) change purse. It can be noted that the lateral under the mirror looks to be some sort of brown brocade?

Such a unique and rare piece!

The purse is in good condition for its age. Most of the leather on the bag itself is still in very nice. However, The strap is much more worn. There is a black stain/mark on the back near the top. There is a small light mark on the front. The inside lining of the strap has become detached in a spot. Please view pictures carefully and and ask any questions you have before purchasing Sold as is.
