Vintage Art Deco Austrian Sterling Silver Guilloche Enamel Powder Compact 1920s For Sale

Up for sale is a pretty vintage/antique powder compact from approx 1920s could be slightly earlier.

It is made in Austria from hallmarked sterling silver,with a striking guilloche enamel front with silver pierced work floral basket/urn.

It is marked around the rim made in Austria,also impressed into the rim are Austrian silver hallmarks,not sure of exact date,but the makers mark is AP which i think may be for Abeles Paul an Austrian silversmith between 1918-25,also impressed Sterling in powder well rim.The revolving sifter is marked Metal.

The compact is not in perfect condition but still is attractive and has charm.The enamel laquer has some scuffs and a couple of flaked areas which can only be seen in certain light.There is a slight indent to the silver back on very edge.The mirror is intact but has patches of wear behind it.Hinge good and closes well.

Measures approx 2 inches across.Weighs approx 39 grams in total.
