Stunning, pristine piece of American millinery history bundled with a classic vintage hat Churchill Hats Ltd. box. This is an authentic, true vintage deadstock fedora handcrafted by the legendary Makins Hat Company in their New York City factory. Every Makins hat was meticulously hand-blocked one at a time over traditional wooden molds, making this a high-end designer piece.

This hat features a structurally perfect, deep pinched teardrop crown in premium solid black felt. It is elegantly accented by its original, factory-installed (Code "FB") full-wrap genuine pheasant feather hatband, displaying gorgeous iridescent amber, gold, and black plumage patterns. The interior is finished with a luxury woven grosgrain sweatband embroidered with the signature stylized "makins NEW YORK" logo.

Because this item is brand new with its original yellow factory string tag still attached, the delicate feathers are completely intact, free of shed, fading, or wear.

CONDITION NOTES:

New with tags / Deadstock vintage condition. The hat is unworn and exceptionally well-preserved. Zero holes, stains, or structural warping to the felt crown. The feather band is in mint condition with no missing plumage or exposed adhesive. The vintage Churchill box shows normal light storage wear and rubbing along the corners/edges consistent with age, but remains completely sturdy and structurally sound. Kept stored in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment.
