Vintage 1954 Trousseau Peignoir Nightgown Set Terris Black Lace Size Small For Sale

Exceptional original 1954 Trousseau by Terris two-piece peignoir and nightgown set.

This beautiful set belonged to my mother and was part of her trousseau in 1954. It is believed to have been worn only once and has been carefully stored in her cedar chest ever since.

The set includes the coordinating full-length nightgown and sheer peignoir robe in black lace and sheer black fabric, beautifully accented with pale blush/ivory piping and satin ribbon. The nightgown has its original light flesh-toned opaque underlayer/slip, providing coverage beneath the sheer outer fabric.

The matching peignoir is especially lovely, with a black lace bodice and dramatic lace bell sleeves, flowing sheer skirt, contrasting piping and delicate ribbon detailing. Together, the pieces have the romantic, feminine silhouette associated with elegant mid-century bridal trousseau lingerie.
