💓Nike Air Foamposite One “Polarized Pink”
Quick overview: • Release: November 21, 2012 • Original retail: $220 • Style code: 314996-600 • Colors: Polarized Pink / Black / White / Metallic Silver • Designer: Eric Avar • Penny Hardaway: The Foamposite One became closely associated with Penny and carries his 1 Cent branding. • Construction: The defining feature is the molded, glossy Foamposite shell, rather than a conventional stitched sneaker upper. Nike describes Foamposite technology as a molded construction that conforms around the foot.
Why they’re special
The Polarized Pink was a big deal when it came out because it was the first time the iconic Foamposite shell was covered entirely in pink. It has a very bright, glossy pink finish with a black tongue/collar and translucent outsole.
It’s also one of those Foamposites that has become more of a collector/streetwear sneaker than simply a basketball shoe. The Foamposite One itself dates back to 1997 and is considered one of Nike’s most distinctive basketball designs.
💰 Value today
They’re not cheap if you’re looking for an original 2012 pair. StockX currently shows a last-3-month average sale price around $434, with sales ranging roughly from $291–$580 over that period. Condition and size make a big difference, and deadstock pairs can command substantially more.
There is also a “Rust Pink” Foamposite One from 2018, which is a much softer/paler pink and is a completely different release.
